Kinabalu National Park and Mountain ToursIn Malaysia's eastern state of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu is your headquarters for visiting the magnificent Mount Kinabalu, highest point between the Himalayas and New Guinea. Mt. Kinabalu's legendary sunrises are remarkable by anyone's standards, and we have tours to take you there! Kinabalu National Park has some lovely sights as well, including longhouses, nearby hot springs, and wild water rafting.
1. Kinabalu Summit (2 days, 1 night)Day 1 0630hrs - Leave the hotel in the early morning and drive overland to Kinabalu Park by coach or van (2 hours). Arrive at Kinabalu Park - register with the Park office and then continue to the Power Station (10 minutes) by coach for the start of the climb. Commence climb to Laban Rata with packed lunch. The climb will take approximately 4 hours. Check-in at the mountain hut and the rest of the afternoon is free at leisure. Have dinner and overnight at the guesthouse (dormitory). (L, D) Day 2 Wake up as early as 0200 hours to have breakfast and commence to the summit by torchlight. The climb will take about 3 hours. Witness the beautiful sunrise at the summit at 0600 hours. Descend to Laban Rata Guesthouse, then to the Power Station. Transfer to Park HQ. Have lunch and return to hotel in Kota Kinabalu. 2. Mt. Kinabalu Summit (3 days, 2 nights)Day 1 0800hrs -Depart hotel lobby for a 2-hr journey through breathtaking scenery to Kinabalu Park with a short stop at Nabalu to savor the local fruits and to bargain prices for the handicrafts that the villagers sell. Upon arrival at Kinabalu Park, 88 km from Kota Kinabalu, you will go on a guided nature walk with a Park naturalist, after checking in at the Park's office. Explore the mountain garden (open from 3 pm till 4 pm). The rest of the afternoon is free for you to relax or explore the park surroundings. Overnight stay will be at the twin-bedded cabins at Kinabalu Park (or equivalent). (L, D) Day 2 Following breakfast, proceed on the journey to the Power Station (10 minutes) by coach. Commence climb to Laban Rata with packed lunch. The climb will take approximately 4 hours. Check-in at the mountain hut and the rest of the afternoon is free at leisure. Have dinner and overnight at the guesthouse (dormitory). (B, L, D) Day 3 Wake up as early as 0200 hours to have breakfast and commence to the summit by torchlight. The climb will take about 3 hours. Witness the beautiful sunrise at the summit at 0600 hours. Descend to Laban Rata Guesthouse, then to the Power Station. Transfer to Park HQ. Have lunch at the Park's Restaurant. 3. Poring & Kinabalu (2 days, 1 night)Day 1 0730hrs - Depart in the early morning for a 3 hr drive to Poring Hot Spring (126 km from Kota Kinabalu). En route, make a stop at Nabalu village to savour local fruits and to bargain prices for the handicrafts. Explore the many jungle trails and observe wildlife on the canopy walkway 100 feet above the forest floor. After lunch, take a dip in one of the soothing, steaming hot mineral springs set in beautifully landscaped gardens. Proceed to the World Heritage site of Kinabalu National Park (39km from Poring). The rest of the afternoon will be at your leisure. Overnight stay will be at the twin-bedded cabins at Kinabalu Park (or equivalent). (L, D) Day 2 Bird watching in the early morning. Transfer to Timpohon Gate at 1524m above sea level and trek up to the second shelter along the mountain trail. Return to Park Headquarters in time for a nature walk with a Park naturalist. Visit the mountain garden. Have lunch and return to Kota Kinabalu in the afternoon. (B, L) Includes:

4. Kota Kinabalu By Night, with Seafood (day trip)Pick up from your hotel lobby. Proceed for a short city tour, an introduction to Kota Kinabalu (KK), a new town rebuilt after World War II. Visit our local market at Kampung Air. Here local delicacies are sold at open stalls - a variety of food like “satay”, barbecued beef, fish and local cakes. Proceed to the night market where you will have the chance to shop around for local handicraft such as beadwork and woven items. Proceed to Kampung Nelayan Seafood Restaurant for dinner. Enjoy a cultural show of traditional dances. Return to your hotel after dinner. Includes:

5. Captivating Kinabalu (day trip)Depart early morning for Poring Hot Springs. Trek to the Canopy Walkway. Take a dip at the sulphur bath (optional). Have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, proceed to Kinabalu Park with a visit to the mountain garden. Return to Kota Kinabalu late afternoon. Includes:

6. Naturally Sabah (2 days, 1 night)Day 1 Upon arrival, met at airport and transfer to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary to witness feeding. Proceed to the jetty for the boat ride to Abai for lunch. Then continue by boat to Sukau. Cruise the Menanggul River in search for wildlife. Overnight at Lodge. (Lunch, Dinner) Day 2 Depart Sukau by boat after breakfast and then proceed to Chinese Temple. Enjoy lunch before transferring to the airport for the flight back to Kota Kinabalu. (Breakfast, Lunch) Includes: Tours & transfer in Sandakan, entrance fees, 1 night basic accommodation at the Sukau Lodge, Meals as stated (excluding soft drinks, juices and alcoholic beverages), English speaking guide. 7. Palau Tiga (Survivor Island) (2 days, 1 night)Day 1 Depart from Kota Kinabalu approx 0800hrs for the 2-hour overland journey to the fishing village of Kuala Penyu. The road heads south-west, following the Sabah coastline, with good views of mangrove forests and sandy beaches. The sight of the old car ferry on the Penyu River signifies our arrival, and from here it is a 40-minute boat ride to the tropical island of Pulau Tiga. Famously known as the venue for the hit TV series “Survivor,” this island now offers a rather more comfortable and relaxing experience. Individual chalets provide comfortable bedrooms with private bathrooms. An adjacent restaurant supplies 3 generous meals a day, plus a limitless supply of tea, coffee and cordial drinks. After arrival on the island, it is time to check in and perhaps have a quick swim before lunch is served in the restaurant. In the afternoon we take the jungle trail that crosses the centre of the island to the mud “volcanoes.” At this site mud is seen to bubble up from the earth, and provides a popular spot for a full mud bath! A short run to a nearby beach provides a well needed wash, and the rest of the afternoon is free for further exploration or snorkeling on the diverse reef close to you chalet. Masks, snorkels and full diving gear are available for rental from the well-stocked dive shack. Dinner is taken in the park restaurant, and overnight in the chalet. (L, D) Day 2 After breakfast, the morning is a time for leisure and swimming on the reef. If a park warden is available (not always guaranteed), then an optional tour to the nearby Snake Island may be arranged. The boat departs for Kuala Penyu at approx 0900hrs. 8. River Safari (day trip)Our journey begins in the early afternoon, passing through padi fields, small kampungs and oil palm plantations. Our destination is the Klias Wetlands, some 25 km south of Beaufort, a beautiful environment of rivers, mangrove forest and sago palms. This is home to the unique Proboscis monkey (Nasalis Larvatus), endemic only to Borneo. In the late afternoon, as our small open boat drifts past the mangrove, groups of these amazing animals make their way to the riverbank before settling down for the evening. This is a wonderful opportunity to watch these animals in the wild as dusk falls. Following the boat trip, dinner is provided, before the return road trip back to KK. Includes:
9. Rungus Longhouse and the Northern Tip of Borneo (day trip)Go on a 3-hour drive north of Kota Kinabalu. Past padi fields, small villages and oil palm plantations is the Kudat District; heartland of the colorful and culturally-rich Rungus people. This tour includes a visit to a Rungus Longhouse and the chance to experience first hand their traditional lifestyle. A native-lunch is served at the longhouse. Continue driving for about 01 hour to hill of Simpang Mengayau; better known as the Tip of Borneo. Here, stunning scenery of rocky outcrops and white sandy beaches greet the visitor. Certainly a fitting tour for those who want to experience a little more of what Borneo has to offer. Return to the hotel early evening. Includes:
10. Sepilok Orangutan/Sandakan City Tour (day trip)0600hrs – Upon arrival at Sandakan airport (MH 2042 ETD 0730hrs ETA 0810hrs), meet and overland to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary to witness the feeding of the Orang Utans. Visit the Exhibition center, followed by a video presentation. Lunch at a local restaurant before preceding on a tour of Sandakan town. Transfer to Sandakan airport thereafter for a flight back to Kota Kinabalu (MH 2709 ETD 1415hrs ETA 1500hrs). (L) Includes:
11. Wild Water Rafting (day trip)Kiulu River (for the novice) Take a 90-minute drive to the countryside. Kiulu River is suitable for the novice rafter. Raft through scenic countryside view. Enjoy lunch at the riverbank before returning to Kota Kinabalu and back to your hotel. Padas River (for the experienced) Take a 98km drive overland from Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort. Journey is either by rail or overland, depending on number of people, to Pangi, along the Padas River passing the scenic countryside of Sabah. The Padas River gushes through the spectacular Padas Gorge and offers serious rafters the ultimate white water adventure in Borneo. After rafting down the mighty Padas River, enjoy a sumptuous barbecue lunch before returning to Kota Kinabalu and back to your hotel. Includes:
